Why this one
The bit you already remember
You knew the weight of a cork ball before you knew your own. You knew a tape ball swung if you left one side bare, and you knew it from experiment, not from anyone telling you.
Twelve months, twelve objects, each drawn the way a draughtsman draws a component: orthographic, dimensioned, annotated, with a parts list in the corner.
January is a cork ball opened along its seam — cork core, wool winding, four rows of stitching, the whole thing weighed to five and a half ounces. March is a tape ball, the electrical tape laid in its correct overlapping spiral. July is the dial of a two-band transistor, tuned to nothing in particular. November is a coin at the top of its arc, blank on both faces.
Printed on 250 GSM matte art paper with a date grid that leaves you room to actually write something. Wire-bound at the top, hook included.
